You are invited to join in Pasadena’s Latino Heritage Parade & Festival. PASADENA 100 will team with Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL) and participate in the parade and have a booth at the Festival. https://www.pasadenalatinoheritageparade.org/
It is the 25th Latino Heritage Parade & Festival for the City and so it is an important event. Last year, the Latino Heritage Festival was PASADENA 100’s most successful venue for our postcard drive, which led to the City passing its resolution for 100% carbon free electricity by 2030. The parade and the festival are really a huge amount of fun, and we’d like to thank the Latino community for their support by contributing to the day’s joy.
This year the festival theme is “Reaching for the Stars” / “Alcanzando las Estrellas” putting an emphasis on the achievements of Latinos, as well as Pasadena’s status in astronomy. It is taken from the title of this book: https://www.abebooks.com/signed/Reaching-Stars-Inspiring-Story-Migrant-Farmworker/19451543170/bd
Our PASADENA 100 / CCL shared sub theme is:
REACH FOR THE NEAREST STAR, THE SUN
ALCANZA LA ESTRELLA MAS CERCANA, EL SOL
We are putting an emphasis on Community Solar, as certain Latino neighborhoods in Pasadena have favorable Justice 40 status for the Inflation Reduction Act, and we want PWP to be competing for the grants for Community Solar.
We have signups for tabling at the booth but need marchers for the parade.
We will make banners and signs with our slogans and also costumes to wear when marching: sun and solar-panel costumes. See below.
